Hawerchuk Scores Two in Colts' Win
Barrie snaps 3-game home losing streak, Hague with a pair for Mississauga in losing cause.
The Barrie Colts seem to have righted the ship at home.
They beat the visiting Mississauga Steelheads 6-3 on Thursday night for their first home win in 4 games.
They also won consecutive games for the first time since November 10th and 11th.
The Steelheads took a 1-0 lead before Ben Hawerchuk and Ryan Suzuki answered to give the Colts a 2-1 lead after the first period.
Missisauga would tie the game up at 2-2 to open the second period then Hawerchuck would get his second of the game and Barrie would regain the lead at 3-2.
The Colts would expand the lead in the third on goals from Tyler Tucker and Lucas Chiodo.
Nicholas Hague's second goal of the game cut Barrie's lead down to 5-3 before Jaden Peca scored into an empty net.
Justin Murray, TJ Fergus, and Jason Willms each had 2 assists while Leo Lazarev stopped 24 shots for the Colts (15-7-2-1).
Albert Michnac had the other Steelheads' (11-14-0-1) goal while Jacob Ingham made 18 saves in the loss.
Barrie went 1-for-3 on the power play. Mississauga finished 0-for-5.
The next game for the Colts is Saturday afternoon when they travel to Ottawa to play the 67's.
