As if the icy conditions weren't enough for motorists this morning, drivers in the Barrie-area faced the closure of Highway 400 in both directions between Mapleview Drive and Innisfil Beach Road.
OPP Sgt Kerry Schmidt says around 4 am, a northbound transport truck lost control and went into the centre guardrail, sending the guardrail into the southbound lanes, and a southbound truck hit that guardrail and ended up in the ditch.
Police say the northbound truck jackknifed on the guardrail and there was a fuel leak.
The driver of that truck has been charged with careless driving.
There were no injuries.
Highway 400 remains closed between Mapleview Drive and Innisfil Beach Road for the clean up and repairs.
The highway could re-open around noon.
